Material Rewards Quilt Shop in Dansville, New York
Picnic - July 10, 2017

Some of you like to know in advance the dates for the PICNIC. This year it will be JULY 10th. We will be having the sale in the morning (9 am - 12 noon), and then we will adjourn to FourSquare Church just around the corner and have a wonderful picnic and show 'n tell - all compliments of YOU! (Dish to pass and be sure to bring your latest fun projects).

We will be introducing 4 new BLOCK OF THE MONTH projects shortly.

Block of the Month Favorite Things

FAVORITE THINGS is finally ready. No fault of ours, the pattern got delayed. The quilt is gorgeous and will be on the wall next week.

Tiny Dresdens Block of the Month

TINY DRESDENS is a new series from Suzn Quilts that used the dresden shape in some very unique ways. Each month you complete a little (tiny) 6 x 8 mini quilt that goes on a fun little stand (included in the program).

Anderson's Farm Block of the Month

ANDERSON'S FARM is a new program from Lynette Anderson, so all of you who have purchased her Apliquick rods, get them out and dust them off! You'll have fun learning to use the rods and you'll have a great project in the end.

The last project that we are introducing is

by Norma Whaley.

This wool project has 12 blocks that have a "primitive Baltimore Album-ish" look.

... So those are the new programs we will be starting shortly.

We will have more information on the site with pricing, sizes, etc by next week.

Teri & I have been planning our summer activities for a while - it has taken more time than we had anticipated, but we're pretty pleased with the end result - if we say so ourselves!

Each month, May-August, we will hold a DEMO DAY at the shop highlighting a specific technique, project or tool. For your viewing pleasure we will have lots of samples in the shop - thanks to some very gracious designers smiley face. We've tried to get a nice cross section of techniques so you will, hopefully, learn something this summer! Here are the dates and topics ...

May 13 - Cake Mix from Miss Rosie's Quilt Co. - POSTPONED

Unfortunately, due to a family situation, we had to postpone the Cake Mix demo scheduled for May 13th.

As soon as we can, we'll let you know the new dates.

Thanks for your understanding.

Teri & Marty

We've done a Facebook post on these new recipes, but now we're going to show you how it's done and what the end results are.

The Cake Mix pads are kind of like Thangles, but they have multiple sizes all on one page. They are geared to work with Layer Cakes (10" squares) and the idea is that with 1 Layer Cake square, 1 background 10" square and 1 Cake Mix sheet, you can make the units for a block - all extremely accurate (so good for beginners) and lots of design possibilities.

At this point there are 4 different Cake Mix packets, but knowing Carrie Nelson, more will be coming.

June 10 - The Bag Lady Comes To Town
The Bag Lady Comes to Town ByAnnie

Even if bags, totes, organizers, cases, etc aren't your thing, ' cause they're so complicated, then ByAnnie's projects are going to be right up your alley. You've never seen zippers go into bags as easily as she makes it happen. She is also the originator of Soft N Stable which gives all bags a wonderful "designer" look. Personally, I can't wait to see her new pattern, Pack It In, which has 3 different sized nesting totes. Annie has also developed a great mesh that is nice and soft for pockets that you can see through. Gotta love these inventive people!

July 15 - One Sister Designs
One Sister Designs by Janet Nesbit

Janet Nesbit has been designing quilts for years and years and her quilts always have a fun, whimsical look to them. She also designs fabrics for Henry Glass. Janet has many quilts that use her stack/cut/rearrange/stitch back together technique. It's easy peasy and you'll love making her quilts.

August 12 - Traditional Primitives by Missy Carpenter
Traditional Primitives by Missy Carpenter

We recently ran across Missie's tools and technique for English paper piecing when we were looking for an easier approach to the method - and she has it in spades! She uses a starch based basting method that is really easy and gets you to the hand stitching pronto! Missie also likes to add wool to her projects and the combination is outstanding. Be sure to attend this demo!

Traditional Primitives by Missy Carpenter

Each demo day will have 2 times - 10 am to 12 noon or 1 to 3 pm. We figured that this would give you a little inspiration this summer and as an added incentive, we have one more enticement ... on September 22 we're having one of our DESSERT PARTIES at FourSquare Church and will be featuring YOUR work. Bring projects that are from any of the 4 seminars during the summer and be part of our Show 'n Tell. We'll also be giving out prizes for completed projects. And ... we'll be doing an overview of the 4 demos in case you missed one so you can get a general idea.

So that's what we've been up to. We hope that you'll ink us in on your calendar and we'll see you on some of the dates above.

We'll also be updating the website with new kits early next week. We have some really cute spring-y projects ready for you to jump into!

Take care and happy Spring!!!
